Favorite Fish:  Steelhead

Home Water:  Pere Marquette

I grew up in West Michigan with a real passion for the outdoors. After guiding in Alaska at Katmai Lodge for a number of years, I returned to Michigan for the streams that I love. Among these, the Pere Marquette is my favorite, which I now live close to in the town of Baldwin. I became a full time professional guide in 1998, and fishing still remains a driving passion with me.

I guide Trout, Salmon, and Steelhead on the Pere Marquette, Muskegon, and White Rivers. My technique of choice is swinging flies for Steelhead using Switch and Spey rods. My favorite all around rod is the Echo TR 6126, a 12′ 6″ #6 weight matched with a Airflo Compact Skagit or Skagit Intermediate line it’s the sweetest rod I have ever thrown. Echo just goes perfect with the Airflo assortment of lines, it’s almost as if they were meant to be together.
